Mobile library service which organized regularly by provincial library of Bangka Belitung province is one of service to overcome the information gap of local communities and made them closer with library. Through this activity, the Agency of Archives and Library as the local government is trying to achieve its mission: fostering and developing a culture of reading by providing information services proactively.

The target of mobile library service on Monday, October 31, 2019, is visiting SDN 6 Tempilang, West Bangka regency.  But before that, some procedures are required:  selected the duty officer (a librarian from the Agency of Archive and Library), prepared the letter of duty signed by the head of the Agency and visited the target of mobile library service. 

At SDN 6 Tempilang, the visitors are 93 students from the total of 136 students. It means 68% from the total of the students. They are really enthusiastic with this activity as they are never been visited by local mobile library service or provincial mobile library service.

At this school, the student’s favorite collections are various, including fiction and non-fiction books. For fiction books, they like to read story book and comic. And for non-fiction books, they like to read science, agriculture, plantation and craft.

This mobile library service is expected can help society in obtaining information, spreading information and reading services until the remote areas, building a good cooperation among social, educational and local government institutions to improve the intellectual and cultural society.
